It goes beyond fame, even. I am a small-time professional actor who has struggled a good amount. All of my friends who were able to move to big cities immediately after undergrad and book right away were able to do so not because of their chops alone, but because daddy was able to pay the lease in LA so they didn’t have to work in addition to auditioning. They could focus only on auditioning and never had to turn an audition down because of their serving shift. The more money your parents have, the better training you get, the more networking you’re able to do, and the more you can afford to focus on strengthening your craft without worrying about also working 40 hours a week at a retail job or something. So if you have rich parents who ALSO work in the industry in some fashion (whether as actors, producers, even camera ops), you are set up for success if you want it.
