She posted about her synesthesia somewhere on this post a while ago. She felt that she had to delete it because of all the comments she got from people telling her she was wrong or that she didn't have it, etc. (I didn't see the comments & this perception is hers.) She was near tears telling me it was just too hard trying to help people understand when they assumed she was lying/wrong, etc.What I find is important to take away from our story is that since humanity has such a wealth of cognitive diversity, we owe it to each other to assume good intentions and ask clarifying questions before jumping to conclusions, even if we think we know what someone is trying to say. Who knows? We may be missing the opportunity to learn something new.
