Thanks for actual context. Im a Pakistani and was aware of the billion tree tsunami initiative and was pretty proud of it so thanks again for not down playing it. It is regardless pretty unfortunate what these people are doing and the image it has created of us and the initiative overall as shown by the rest of the comments.Nothing was deprived. They could have very easily planted there without disturbing the trees. If it was fertile enough to grow other shit other things would be growing there now. Unless you’re trying to claim the tree people came through and scorched earth all other plants before planting their trees. That sounds really stupid though.
