DS9 is rough in the beginning, but gets better. No mini skirts. Both female officers are pretty bad ass, imo. I like it more than Voyager. Of course, I also enjoyed TNG, so your mileage may vary. I had seen parts of those three with my dad when I was younger, but this is the first time watching all the way through. I've still never seen the original or Enterprise.DS9 is much different than the others though. It's more political and stationary, rather than "lets fly off and go explore that planet and people." It also has a really great side character named Garak.
