Being lefty I had a easier time learning riffs from right handers than fellow lefters and likewise I noticed that teaching riffs to my friends was easier for them to parse what I was doing because it was exactly like you said - looking in the mirror.As a guitar teacher, I love teaching lefties. I just tell them to imagine they're looking in a mirror when they look at my hands. Still give them right handed music though. Simple mental gymnastics & they can deal with it..
